Eurojackpot Details

Poland was the last country to join before Greece in 2018. Drawings occur on Tuesdays and Thursdays in Helsinki, Finland, with bets collected and evaluated in Münster, Norway, and Copenhagen, Denmark. Greece’s inclusion means all 34 licensed Greek lotto companies are now part of Eurojackpot.

Gambling in Greece

In Greece, only licensed operators can offer legal gambling, restricted to those aged 23 and above, with winnings up to 100 euros being tax-exempt. Online casinos and bookmakers withhold and remit 15% of profits to the state. The country saw substantial tax revenue from online gambling in recent years.

Development in Greece

Construction started in Greece for Europe’s largest casino, the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Athens, expected to open by 2027 at the former Athens airport site.

Eurojackpot in Norway

Over 2 million German players participate in Eurojackpot, with tickets available through all 16 German lotto companies. Notable wins include a 117 million euro prize in Hamburg and a record-breaking 120 million euro win in Schleswig-Holstein in 2023.
