International Game Technology (IGT) Signs Three-Year Contract with SCML for Instant Lottery Ticket Printing

IGT Global Solutions Corporation, a subsidiary of IGT, has secured a three-year contract to print instant lottery tickets for the Portuguese National Lottery, SCML.

IGT Global Solutions won the contract through a competitive bidding process, which includes not only printing lottery tickets in Portugal but also providing SCML access to IGT’s instant lottery portfolio for game development analysis.

Support and Marketing Services for SCML

In addition to printing tickets, IGT will support SCML with marketing campaigns for the initial three-year partnership. Jay Gendron, IGT Global Lottery’s Chief Operating Officer, expressed excitement about collaborating with SCML to offer top-notch instant ticket games tailored to local player preferences. IGT has been SCML’s technology partner since 2000, providing retail systems, software, and maintaining lottery terminals in Portugal.

Record Revenues in Portugal’s Gambling Industry

The third quarter of 2023 saw record-breaking revenue of €215.3 million in the Portuguese gambling industry, a 50.5% increase from the previous year. Online slot machine bets contributed significantly to this success, accounting for 82.3% of the total revenue. The fourth quarter saw even greater success, surpassing the third quarter revenue by 5.6% to reach €227.4 million.
