WestLotto and Scientific Games Partnership for Modernization of Lottery Terminals in NRW

New Agreement for Lotto Terminals Installation

WestLotto and Scientific Games have agreed to install over 3,000 new Contour.v-Terminals in retail stores with a lottery branch in North Rhine-Westphalia starting April 2025. The terminals will feature HD screens for cashier and player use, allowing players to scan lottery receipts themselves.

WestLotto Enhances Offerings with Advanced Technology

WestLotto is modernizing its gambling offerings by partnering with Scientific Games to equip retail stores in NRW with the latest Contour.v-Terminals from April 2025 onwards. This move is in line with WestLotto’s efforts to revamp its gambling services, following a collaboration with OpenBet earlier this year to enhance player monitoring and security measures in NRW.

Benefits of the Partnership

In addition to the Contour.v-Terminals, Scientific Games will provide WestLotto with a merchant management system, point-of-sale technology, and sports betting products. Andreas Kötter, CEO of Westdeutsche Lotterie, commented on the collaboration, emphasizing the digitalization of transactions in retail environments and anticipating positive feedback from retailers and players.

Positive Response from Both Parties

Both WestLotto and Scientific Games expressed excitement about their collaboration. Matthias Müller, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Scientific Games, highlighted WestLotto’s focus on technology and the innovative shift towards optical terminals as a step towards modernizing the lottery retail experience. The new terminals aim to offer players a better and more convenient gaming experience.

Future Lottery Experience

Come April 2025, lottery players in NRW can utilize the new terminals for various German lotteries, including 6 out of 49, Super 6, and Spiel 77. The introduction of these terminals is expected to streamline and enhance the lottery gaming process for players and staff alike.

Rich History and Milestones

Established in 1955 as Nordwestlotto in North Rhine-Westphalia, WestLotto has continuously expanded its offerings to include popular lotteries like 6 out of 49, Glücksspirale, Spiel 77, and Super 6. Over the years, WestLotto has raised jackpot values and introduced new games, such as KENO in 2005 and Eurojackpot in 2012, catering to a diverse audience of lottery enthusiasts.

Advancements in German Lottery Landscape

Embracing Technological Innovations

WestLotto’s partnership with Scientific Games signifies a broader trend in the German lottery sector towards integrating modern technologies. Other lotteries, such as Lotto BaWü and Lotto Hessen, have introduced online slots and self-service terminals, respectively, to enhance the gaming experience for players. This push towards digitalization aims to make lottery gaming more accessible and convenient for enthusiasts across Norway.
